Earth already went through this. Also, how?
P.S. How about diversions by Papal Empire/Rulers/Khaliphate spies?

True, there are the other big groups who aren't part of Minerva. I should include them, when applicable.

might be replicating what I already mentiond, but
small village thats remained apart for a while, either a source of succor or hindrance find an old military vehicle, starting to rust open, with heavy weaponry inside, rockets, ect. if they choose to use them, they MAY have been boobytrapped to begin with and blow apart the troops. ground swallows up a few who are in an old bunker/laboratory, possible dissemination of backstory on the war, as well as biological or experimental weaponry that might still be viable. an unknown oasis that glows at night. drinking the water may be good, may be bad. (turkmen would probably get a buff from it) old abandoned farms with plant life that has grown wild but is nutritious, supplies! old abandoned farms with plant like that has grown wild and intelligent, and it wants meat. crazy old coot living in thehills trades info on recent patrols for a can of beans. sealed bunkers set into the hills, do you crack it open? could be empty, could have weapons, could contain 50 troops in uniform with weapons who all died of lack of oxygen. old minefiled.

Gurps is evil, and hellishly complicated, although it does have a number of useful tables in it's, MANY volumes, i'm with Dazim though, the use of randomised guff, completely neuters the point of including correct orbat, movord, logdem etc in your weekly actions!
my two cents
Dazim, i love the idea of "can we keep him"! it's, something grunts do..................
