I have a little bit of thoughts for this group, which I'll list below the map.  Most of the Arabic countries of the middle east got very heavily bombed and nuked during WW3, so these guys are grumpy. And that's why their area is so shallow. To the south of them is a nuclear wasteland still. This should probably impact how you think of this group. |

I think they are grumpy but also full of fear.
Damn, they got radiations just behind them !
That could help them wanting to emigrate to the North and raid people.
But they won't have a lot of resources or equipments, right ?
They can't face Minerva with their poor material, but they still try.
They could be the most aggressive faction and make the most problems to Minerva.
Minerva just can't allow them to emigrate to the North (because of resources and other inhabitants who don't want to live with Arabians).
But Arabians still try. To survive...

Good point on them probably wanting new land to live on that isn't radioactive.
They might have access to weapons and etc that were used by multiple nations during the middle eastern conflicts of WW3. So, old weapons and equipment. Probably not much in the way of food and other resources. So pretty hungry, desperate people.

Yeah i see.
They might have technology to fight but not really to face Minerva.
But they still try because of hungriness.
And how about because of things they saw in the south lands ?
Some people might have gone / been banished to those areas and came back with "bad news".
That could really make the Arabians a fearfull desperate faction.

The traditional Arabian culture, with techs that differs from non-sharp spears to stolen hightechs from Minerva and maybe other cultures around, or self-made firearm (and not fire-). Also because of radioactive desert nobody really wants to war in theirs lands. The tactics can be also very different - hunt on the roads, robbin the caravans (they must exist), maybe terrorising people or just cuttin' off the whole settelment. They must be shady, not brave, and not stupid; maybe with wolfpack tactics. Also they should have castes of some sort.

That way if their is confusion, Amberlight can translate it for me too  I like the idea of them being a bit of traditional arabian culture, robbing caravans, etc. |

I got an idea for the Arabs :
As the Fremen, they live in tribes. Once they lived in the desert, but it's too radioactive for them now so they want to emigrate.
There are things in the desert, terrible things. They're afraid. They have a religious fear of it. They are used to hard conditions, and their soldiers are well trained. They have firearms but they prefer stealth infiltrations rather than big assault.
The religious fear of the desert is what make them running from it to the North. And Minerva don't want them to move from where they are. So they fight.

Several ideas about Arabs.
This group occupies territory of ex-Turkmenistan and ex- Afghanistan. This was a poor land even before the Collapse. Some agriculture (The Karakum desert was a sizeable part of the territory), several sources of mineral mined by western companies, advanced flow of drugs, terrorists religious and not and general political instability. Quite bad start for post-apocalypses survival, isn’t it?
And after the Collapse… Territories of their neighbors (such as Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, UAE) were burned in nuclear flame. What earlier was a desert now became ……well, radioactive desert. Extremely radioactive. Some, strange though it may seem, were able to run away north. However they had to abandon their property. Somewhere deep under sand there are government’s vaults full of precollapse scientific and industrial equipment and weapons.
But refugees just got a long death from starvation and thirst instead of quick death from nuclear explosion. At the moment just a few citizen of the region live in underground shelters (and the luckiest ones in concrete vaults) closer to underground waters. Such shelters have no protection systems at all. Firstly because there is nothing to made it of, secondly there is no reason for that. Usually people are trying to escape from desert, but not to enter it. People go out quite rarely and only at night. At night one can’t get a sunstrike. But one can still stand into quicksand or meet sandstorm.
Night was the time when a journey of group of people to Caucasia began. During the journey they got a couple of good news. Teheran lab was the first one. Sum of money Iran earned before OPEC crisis were enough to build perfectly protected (from everything) and very well equipped lab in Teheran outskirts, that’s main target was to develop technologies for making desert and semi desert areas more comfortable for living. They focused on gene engineering of plants and animals. After the Collapse scientists, technical and serving personnel together with their families moved into. This fact (and also a nuclear protection rocket shield) allowed them to survive, but was only a temporary decision. Lab nevertheless was not designed for living a large number of people. And then they decided to adapt their technologies for humans.
The first result was bad. Despite the fact that testers became more heat and radioactive steady they lost their minds. Tenth one gave interesting results. It increases a number of physical parameters and does not kill a human quickly. Nowadays they exchange it for food and water with their Caucasia brothers. Thirty first one was a great success. It reduces humans need in water and nutrition greatly, increases heat and radiation steady highly and increases some of physical parameters a bit. There are 2 main projects in the lab at the moment. Its main ambition is to create new humankind. If everything will go just as planned new born posthumans will fit perfectly this rough new world. Except different physical improvement some of them will get super intelligence and become biological computers. In contrast to previous versions of the Spice the mixture is consumed not by grown up humans but by pregnant women. Maybe now they are carrying new humankind… or a tribe of evil ugly mutants. It depends. In any event scientists have to stop their experiments soon. Some rare components have almost run out.
Second good news was meeting their brothers in faith from Caucasia region. Now they provide the lab and common citizens with food and water.
After the Collapse Arabs became less religious. Everyone, who thought that world must stay as it is because it was created by Allah died of starvation and thirst. Everyone, who thought that all infidel must be killed as soon as possible died attacking Minerva and China. They hate Minerva, but their hate should not be explained with religious reasons.

Территорию этой группировки составляют земли бывших Туркменистана и Афганистана. До Катаклизма эти земли не отличались особым богатством. Немного сельского хозяйства (значительную часть территории занимала пустыня Каракум.), несколько месторождений полезных ископаемых, разрабатываемых западными компаниями, развитой наркотрафик, религиозные и не очень террористы и общая политическая нестабильность. Так себе стартовая позиция для выживания после конца света, не так ли?
Ну а потом… Земли соседей (Ирака, Ирана, Сирии, Саудовской Аравии, ОАЭ) сгорели в пламени атомных взрывов. То, что раньше было пустыней теперь… ээээээээ…. радиоактивная пустыня. Очень радиоактивная. Некоторым, как ни странно, все же удалось бежать на север. Однако большую часть ценного пришлось бросить. Где-то там глубоко под толщей песка похоронены правительственные убежища с довоенным научным и промышленным оборудованием и вооружением.
Однако беженцы всего-лишь променяли быструю смерть от ядерного взрыва на медленную от голода и жажды. В настоящий момент малочисленные жители региона живут в подземных убежищах (особо везучие – в бетонных бункерах) поближе к грунтовым водам. Никаких защитных систем такие убежища не имеют. Во-первых, их просто не из чего делать, во-вторых, просто незачем. Как правило, все стремятся выйти из пустыни, а не войти в нее. Наружу выходят довольно редко и только ночью. Ночью хотя бы нельзя получить солнечный удар. Однако шансы попасть в зыбучие пески или пылевую бурю сохраняются.
Именно ночью началось путешествие группы людей, направлявшихся к горам Кавказа. На это пути их поджидало сразу несколько приятных известий. Первым стала Тегеранская лаборатория. Заработанных на продаже нефти до кризиса ОПЕК вполне хватило для создания в пригороде Тегерана великолепно защищенного (от всего) и прекрасно оборудованного научного комплекса, чьей задачей стала разработка технологий для превращения пустынных и полупустынных территорий в более пригодные для жизни. Основной упор был сделан на генетическое изменение растений и животных. После Катаклизма ученые, технический и обслуживающий персонал со своими семьями переселились внутрь. Это (а также ракетный щит) позволило им относительно легко пережить катастрофу, но оказалось лишь временным решением. Научная лаборатория все же не рассчитана на длительное проживание большого числа людей. И тогда они адаптировали свои технологии для людей.
Первые результаты оказались так себе. Нет, подопытные стали несколько лучше переносить жару и радиацию, но лишились разума. До конца исследования даже кормить их приходилось с ложечки. Десятая дала интересные результаты: значительно повышала ряд физических показателей и сжигала организм не так быстро. Именно ее в настоящее время меняют у братьев с Кавказа на еду и воду. Тридцать первая партия стала самой успешной. Она значительно снижает потребность организма в воде и пище, повышает устойчивость к радиации и высоким температурам и немного увеличивает физические показатели. В настоящее время ведутся два проекта. Они направлены на фактически создание нового вида. Если все пройдет по плану, получившиеся постлюди идеально впишутся в суровый новый мир. Кроме физических качеств, некоторые из них также должны получить отличные умственные способности, превратившись в биологические компьютеры. В отличие от предыдущий вариантов эти смеси принимают не сами люди, женщины в период беременности. Возможно, они сейчас носят под сердцем новое человечество…. или племя злобных уродов-мутантов. Это уж как карты лягут. Так или иначе, эксперименты скоро придется прекратить. Запас некоторых реагентов практически исчерпан.
Второй хорошей новостью стали братья по вере с Кавказа, которые практически обеспечивают лабораторию и простых жителей региона едой и водой.
После Катаклизма жители региона стали несколько менее религиозными. Все, кто считал, что человек не должен вмешиваться в суть вещей, ибо мир должен оставаться таким, каким его создал Аллах, умерли от голода и жажды. Все, кто настаивал на немедленном уничтожении неверных, погибли, атакуя Минерву и Китай. Ненависть никуда не делась, однако не обуславливается религиозными мотивами.

Some ideas might seem illogical. Nowadays Iran lives under strict trading ristrictions and hardly ever earns much. What is more, radical Muslims (as well as radical Christians) are usually strictly agains any experiments with genetics.
Некоторые идеи кажутся нелогичными. Иран давно под санкциями и вряд ли много зарабатывает. Кроме того, отношение к различного рода генетическим экспериментам среди радикальных мусульман (как впрочем и среди радикальный христиан) резко отрицательное.

That sounds curious. Their reason to attack Minerva may be that Minerva refused to trade that mentioned rare material because they found their experiments highly unethical, and this substance can be salvaged from Minervan tech. It may be gold, platinum or other rare material that is too hard to mine in the irradiated desert. It is easier to raid Minervan settlement, take their solar panels and batteries and salvage them.
Любопытная идея. Причиной враждебности к Минерве может быть то, что Минерва отказалась вести обмен на упомянутое редкое вещество, сочтя проводимые эксперименты крайне неэтичными. Но это вещество используется в оборудовании, производимом Минервой - так что оказалось проще нападать на Минервские поселения и забирать солнечные батареи и аккумуляторы и разбирать их, добывая нужный материал, чем добывать его в радиоактивной пустыне. Это может быть золото, платина, или какой-то другой редкоземельный металл.
