I'm fine with what you think of as a time table for operations. I'm just offering strategic and tactical import (for approval). I have looked up army organisational tables and thick our forces general make up should be as follows: raiders: 2 person teams with 2 impact lances, 3 Frisbee bombs each and rifles/bows squad: 5 raiders and a land-yacht with 10 resupply Frisbee and lances armed with pistole, 4 lances and 5 Frisbee's platoon: 4 squads and a balloon with a marksman rifles for sniping, 20 Frisbee's (only used when lack of opposition air cover) company: 10 platoons + scout platoon (20 2 person teams) battalion: 2+ company's company's are commanded by the war-chiefs. if this is ok so as above but with these changes raiders: 1 lance, no Frisbee platoon: balloon no guns

raid tactics for measuring Minervas response times if we go ahead with this.
set up scout over watch in hidden location 1 squad per town split in half attack town on 2 side. take out all armed resistance that is not Minerva forces (If Minerva force encountered withdraw) cut communications (if possible) course general may hem withdraw after 10 to 15 mins
withdrawal maneuver:
scatter as raiders (2 person teams) run for half hour then start evasion (ie cover/remover tracks, change course randomly, find cover etc.) meat at pre determined location after 1 day and move to next target or continue withdrawal and evasion

It's an interesting thought for future weeks. For now, let's just decide on our initial actions, huh?
I don't think we really want to tangle with Minerva just yet, because we aren't ready. We need to focus on the preparation work first. =) I think calling in a war council, taking on un-aligned small tribes to gain more fighters and getting information and trades from neighbouring factions should keep us busy for a week or two! We can worry about tactics for fighting Minerva when we've got all our pieces in place (and talk some more about it in the next few weeks).
You guys are coming up with some really interesting ideas - I hope I can put more in when I'm feeling better!

Honestly i dont think we should do anything complex as the more complex a plan the easier it is for it go wrong and we cant afford that this early. And as castiel said we should gather our forces and expand our land before we do anything against minerva 1 slow 4 quick kind of deal. Does anyone have any problems taking a small amount of tibesmen/serfs and training them to be sappers?

Just a note from me, the guy who'll be reading your plan. Complex isn't necessarily good or bad, but detailed is good. If you just tell me "We send in a bunch of scouts," I have to make a bunch up. Direction, speed, target, what you'll do if you spot someone, etc. If you provide me those details, then I don't have to make it up and you won't be dissatisfied with how the results turn out. So @drastabasti 's details would be really good if you were sending in a raiding party. Otherwise I'd have to decide how you acted. I d agree that you probably shouldn't do a raiding party on Minerva at first, though, until you've done some scouting

sappers are good. sappers make things go boom! and other important battle field stuff. we send a diplomatic party to both China and Russia to with a trading caravan. traders a listen out for rummer's of what the factions are planing diplomats offer to open trading agreements and maybe possibility of alliance diplomats also try and determine what the faction is planing through asking questions and spying diplomatic party should be around 2 to 4 persons we do need to gather information on Minerva asap. to do this we send in 2 scout platoons split into 2 man teams on to gather intel on town locations local forces protection towns warehouses troop movements troop disposition and load outs base locations ammunitions dumps outpost communication lines major roads and possible supply lines anything else you can think of that may be of use for future operations

not sure were to put this but some things to keep in mind for planning our victory are quotes from Sun Tzu (Chines general in 500BC)
“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.”
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.”
“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.”
“A military operation involves deception. Even though you are competent, appear to be incompetent. Though effective, appear to be ineffective.”
“The art of war teaches us to rely not on the likelihood of the enemy's not coming, but on our own readiness to receive him; not on the chance of his not attacking, but rather on the fact that we have made our position unassailable.”
“For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.”
“All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.”
“Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.”
“The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy.”
“The general who advances without coveting fame and retreats without fearing disgrace, whose only thought is to protect his country and do good service for his sovereign, is the jewel of the kingdom.”
“The general who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand.”
“Hence that general is skilful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend; and he is skilful in defense whose opponent does not know what to attack.”
“The one who figures on victory at headquarters before even doing battle is the one who has the most strategic factors on his side.”
plus many many more

Ok, so the agenda for this week is to plan out the grab on the unaligned tribes. Remember, we're doing this to increase our numbers, territory and so they don't stab us in the back while we're having a go at Minerva. =P
Looking at the prompt for this week (wk 2), we need to plan this out in a fair bit of detail. I'm STILL fighting a chest infection (antibiotics helped, but not killed it) so please please help out!

Here is my suggestion for an-axing the independent tribes:
we send in a diplomat with scouts (2) and "request" that they help us in our goals in regards to Minerva. we offer a fair shear in land, tech and profit generated over the course of the campaign. the diplomat also makes clear what the consequences are for refusal of the request and offer is i.e being wiped out. the diplomat waits there response whether positive or negative and then leaves with the reply.
we have a large and overwhelming portion of our army within an hour of the tribe. the diplomat delivers the response of the tribe to the army.
if answer is positive the army moves on to the next tribe and collects the quoter (should be the same percentage of fighters we use from the main tribes) of fight warriors from the tribe.
if the answer is negative the army sweeps in tack out all resistance, enslaves those that are not fighters and have them distributed throughout the khanate, and distribute the warriors that surrender through the army under strict watch or enslave them. then the army moves to the next tribe. the first tribe we hit should be the biggest and most likely to refuse our "request and offer". this will hopefully show that we are willing to work with the tribes and will to carry out all of our promises.
I think we should also sent the scouts to Minerva this week to at lest have an idea of what we are up aggenst and need to do in the coming weeks

we need to determine what our short and mid term goals are. our long term I think is to oust Minerva of its power and make it our own.
during this campaign I do not thick we will have time to accomplish the long term goals so we need to set up for this eventual victory. (Minerva will get back on its feet before we can accomplish the long team goals and we need to be "non-threatening" by the this occurs or lose in the end).
I think the short term goal should be to grab and gather as much of Minerva's tech as possible to start to reverse engineer it.
mid term goal is to start to integrate the tech into our army and infrastructure.
if we manage this much before Minerva reorganizes I think we can be counted as victorious.
