If i have any questions ill post em here.
And my first few questions are about our population, Its listed as 5,000 tribal members, ~10,000 captive farmers.
Do those numbers include the young, old and otherwise unfit for work and if they do what rough percentage would the ones fit for work be?
Are the captive farmers more akin to serfs or slaves? The main difference being slaves are kept against their will serfs are under an almost unspoken agreement of servitude for protection and have for the most part accepted their lot in life(not to say they dont want more but they have chosen this over the other bleak options of revolt or surviving the wastes without the tribal protection).

I was imagining a little between serfs and slaves. Some farmers will be more satisfied (a la serf), and others will be more recent "acquisitions" of the Khanate, and will feel more like slaves and want to revolt.
I was also just spitballing the numbers, so if you need to discuss adjusting them, let me know.

I would like to discuss the numbers more due to as far as i can see it would take 1 able bodied warrior to look after 8-10 proper slaves you could probably take that down to 1 to 12-15 with serfs. But you still need to show them that you are capable of their end of the bargin. Now if these numbers imply 5000 tribe members we can assume that almost 1/4 of them are either too young, too old, the sick and the lame as well as those too important to be sent to war the only reason its that low is that we are assuming poor medicine and a higher mortality rate than modern life. Now if we were to say that the faction only uses male soliders then we can cut almost in half the remaining number leaving us with us with ~1875 odd people ~850 of which will need to be left to look after the slaves/serfs.
I guess the question im asking is do these numbers match your predictions. I can see ways of using these numbers well but i want to know what you think of them.

Hmm, bump tribe members (total) up to 15000. That can give you a good 2000 warriors. Maybe leave the women warriors home watching the serfs/slaves.

So, it looks like about 2000 troops? And do we know how this stacks up with the other factions, roughly? (I'm not thinking exact numbers, but more of a comparison....more, less, same, massively outnumbered...that kind of thing)

This is less than some (China, which has many thousand untrained troops), about the same as others (Turkmen, NRF, Sons), but some of those may be better equipped, etc.
Remember, you could also draft some of your serfs to be "cannon fodder" or something if you wanted to.

I would think we would have some prewar gear that was either bought or given to us(to keep neutrality) during the war so we would have 2-8 AT guns of either russian or chinese make(maybe american/ euro dependsing on politics) that survived the years after. 3-4 heavy mobile artillery of the same, 10-15 light AA guns, 3-8 heavy AA
and due to the ease of manufacture around 20-40 reloadable morters that we either survived after the war or were build since. All of this would be surplus from other countrys and would probably be from several wars ago, it is being cleaned and repairs for khanate use in preperation for the coming war.

I am ok with you having these low numbers of maintained/repairs/simply built guns. Some of them might break during the campaign, since they are old, though (evil laugh) |
