I think that they are consolidating all their forces at their HQ. In my opinion they will heal wounded, repair their vehicles and then go out. We may face all their forces in well-fortified positions. Rush tactic works with weak enemy.

We may fortify (somehow) shelters we already have. Dig a deeper draw-wells to have extra water, for example. Set traps around (deep hidden hole is the simpliest), organise ambushes as you said,
