I think we would agree. At least it is our main goal (if I'm not mistaken) to recultivate desert areas and move there little by little. And in this case we can achieve it without fighting.

Question, how would you react if Minerva offered to give you everything you wanted in exchange for joining their side just in this battle?

Turkmen are free men (lol), I don't think they'd join Minerva even for one fight. It's a big blackmail. It's like Minerva was saying "We are your masters cuz we have what you want. Now fight for us, slaves !"
I think that's how Turkmen, or at least my tribe, will see it.
