Well I imagined more some kind of dual culture :
In their village they eat the weaks (old and wounded [not sick cuze they might contaminate them] and keep the strongest (some kind of darwinian thing).
During the raids, they take the strongest and keep the women for mating.
The second part is why they take by force and why Minerva is against them.
