I apologize, Amberlight, but I still don't know if Hexapod wants to have a say in anything, or if I'm running things by myself.
The uncertainty is slowing my responses.
I'm still unclear how authentic Dan wants this to be, and I'm trying to stay within the bounds of what our area should be able to produce, which means that I'm doing a lot of research. I announced in our official turn post that we are preparing to supply you with what you have asked for, and you should be getting a detailed offer about an hour after I post this.
I also still don't know what your delegation brought to trade. We gave you small bars of gold, larger bars of copper, and samples of the food we offered before.
I realize that we are pretty much making this up as we go, so here's what I'm going to do. From now on, expect a posted reply to your offer within an hour after I read it (allowing for the time difference, of course--I'm in Mountain Standard Time, USA), and will simply announce what we want and what we have, and assume the deal has been made, and that the amounts each receive is sufficient for our needs.
I hope this will make me a good neighbor.

Our delegation brought wood of a good quality (5 tons), charcoal (5 tons), small wood gas generator and an engine to show how it works, samples of some metalwork tools (about 50 different ones), hunting rifles (5) and blackpowder cartridges for them (100), hunting crossbows (5), a bit of jewelry that was presented as a memento gift to the leaders and a couple of fur hides. Also some samples of honey, jams and concentrated food.

We would like to exchange all those goods for raw cotton. Would you accept that trade?

Yes, I missed the cotton when I was going over your earlier requests. Also add it to the other list of things we included in the main trade agreement.

We would like to exchange all our sample goods for 250kg of raw cotton you have available as well as 10 kg of led as a sample for our engineers. Will that be a fair trade for you? Well-manufactured hunting weapon, sturdy tools and exotic food for some raw material?

Also if you have rubber or wheel tires we would much appreciate if you'd prepared them for our return. We would be glad to trade for them when we arrive with a real shipment of goods.

Oh, sorry. When I said "yes" I meant that we accepted the trade, but the sentence wasn't clear. The lead is also acceptable. The tires are being prepared even now. Did you need raw rubber as well?
All the items mentioned in our offer are being mined, prepared, manufactured, pumped and packaged for shipment. all will be waiting for you when you get back. We look forward to a profitable trading partnership.

I apologize for changing the deal now but we had a bit of a confusion with what we had on our ships. We also created a currency for our trade.
Workd is a representation of how much work (work days) was spent on an item and thus it's value to us. So it is a fair way to assign value to items. Sometime I may use "trudd" - a transliteration from Russian, don't get confused.
Our ships currently have on board (price per one item):
2 Power saws with portable gas generator - 13750 workds
6 gas lamps - 1100 workds
6 pumps - 5500 workds
About 200 kg of different tools - 10 workd per kilo.
5 hunting rifles - 2750 worlds
100 cartridges with blackpowder with steel shots - 2 workds
5 hunting crossbows - 1100 workds
50 simple arrows - 1 workd
2 decorated arrows that look really fancy, more of a decorative piece - 50 workds
5 tons of wood - 1 workd per 1 kilo
5 tons of charcoal - 5 workd per kilo
Jams, honey, furs - no exact price yet. 3000 workds for the whole sample shipment of exotic food and furs.
Our buying prices:
1 kg of led - 150 workds
1 kg of iron - 100 workds
1 kg of raw kotton - 36 workds
1 kg of rubber - 25 workds
Truck tire - 2000 workds
Prices for oil and some other things coming soon.
So, you have 240 kg of cotton and 100 kg of led, that would make 240*36+100*150=23640 workds.
Please tell me what would you like to trade.

Wow, how many workds did all this computation cost you?

We only have one ingot of lead available, but I said "some bales of cotton"--we have three of those. We also have access to all the other items we offered. The Caliph owns all mining, metal manufacturing, and oil production. Other manufacturing, agriculture, and fisheries are owned privately, subject to the blessing of the Caliph, and pay a tithe (10%) of their production to him.
Do you want the other two bales of cotton?
"workd" or "trudd"--no problem.

We would like to have all raw cotton and all rubber (or better yet, truck tires) you can offer, as well as led.
We are also in need of oil-based lubricants - we will offer a higher price for the refined lubes than for the raw oil, but the oil itself will be good as well.
