Totally there are about 3 dozens of mech's, but, as wrote in tribe description, only best of them are jacks of all trades. Most of them knews, how to work with scrap and create simple devices and crude firearms, and renovating pre-war machinery is much more complicated.
Anti-material rifles = high caliber rifles, using 12.7/14.5 cartridge and being able to penetrate thin armor along with destroying non-armored constructions.
About books... There might be a bit of them on russian. Turkmenistan for a long time was part of USSR, and Iran&Afghanistan was heavily influenced by it.
But, of course, we can tell them that all our books on Arabic, so, they will have to pay for 'cat in bag'.
